The special building of the House of Hungarian Music is coming alive – Video
A new video of the city park’s perhaps most interesting contemporary building, the House of Hungarian Music, has been recently shared by the Liget Budapest Project.
According to the plans, the triple structure of the mushroom building (exhibition hall, performing arts and educational tasks) will be completed later this year. The functional separation is already visible architecturally: while the concert and lecture hall and the open-air stage are located on the park level, the teaching and research rooms are upstairs in the “floating hat” of the house.
During the design of the House of Hungarian Music, Japanese architect Fujimoto Su placed great emphasis on the harmony of the building and the park, as well as on the functional complexity of the institution.
The different parts of the building are housed on three levels, connected by a 14-ton, suspended spiral staircase.
According to Telex, the House of Hungarian Music will function as a complex musical arena, with innumerable experiences of the world of music and sounds to the visitors. Among others, it will offer:
- an interactive music history exhibition,
- concerts,
- musical experiments,
- music classes,
- opportunities to listen to and try out music.
